Albatross #19 now available

I just posted Albatross #19 at the main site.  The print issue is forthcoming in a week or so (finalized the files and delivered to the printer today, giving him the go-ahead to print 100 copies).

It’s always a bit of a relief to get another issue out there.  I know it’s a relief for the poets, who have sometimes waited a year or two to see their poem in print.  It’s always up in the air, too, until the poem is actually in print, since the journal might fold up shop in the meantime.

I’ve always tried to keep Albatross small so that it never outgrew itself.  I’ve seen journals start out as quarterlies only to see them burn out after a few years.  Albatross is published about once per year and has been doing so for 23 years, a not unremarkable feat for a poetry journal I’m proud to say!

Albatross #19 arrived in the post yesterday Richard. I love the way that you’ve kept the design clean, simple, consistent. There’s some great poems in there. Good on you!

I have received my print copy and looked again at the website. Thanks so much! I am enjoying the poems and the arrangement so much! Fine work, everyone!

Richard, here is a link to the bookstore blog where I do “The Poetry Cart.” I’m sure the owner would love to link blogs with yours if you contact him via the blog or the bookstore home page/contact page. We have a fine poetry collection at the shop (used and rare poetry books and chapbooks, plus some journals), and I have found it to be a great way to 1) recycle all kinds of books and 2) get some poetry cheap. (I also support poets by buying books new, I should say!) Really, really interesting books of all kinds come into the store, and interesting people, too! READERS!

Richard – Thanks for including me in Albatross #19. The work in this issue is top-rate. It was worth the wait. These kinds of journals make great Christmas gifts! Joy
